The Circus Just Got Extreme

Get the kids together and head on over to the Big Top where you can expect to see daring performers take to the high wires and trapezes performing death-defying stunts and tricks.

Follow The Italian Garden Trail

Now that the weather has warmed up a bit, don’t spend the Cardiff half term indoors. Instead, get the family out and about by taking a trip to Dyffryn Gardens.

This school holiday the property will be hosting guided walks around the grounds helping people discover all the little Italian touches dotted throughout the sprawling gardens.
In celebration of the Pompeiian Garden’s 110th birthday, the Italian Garden Trail is a lovely way to enjoy some time outdoors during the school holidays.
Get Involved in Urdd Eisteddfod

The biggest annual youth festival to tour Europe is coming to Cardiff Bay for the school holidays this May, bringing with it a huge selection of live events.

Get involved in sports, arts and craft sessions and check out plenty of live music and plays along the way.
Hosted in the WMC, Urdd Eisteddfod is something the whole family can look forward to each and every year.
Sing-Along at Shrek the Musical
Where: New Theatre Cardiff
When: 29th May – 2nd June
The only thing that could possibly make Shrek more magical is if it was done entirely in song form. Thankfully that’s exactly what you get when Shrek the Musical comes to the New Theatre during Cardiff half term.

Sing-along with the songs you know and embark on an epic journey with Donkey and the whole fairytale gang as Shrek does what he can to save his Princess Fiona.
This romantic and laughably enchanting stage production will capture the minds and attention of audiences of all ages this half term in Cardiff.
Get Hands-on in Craft Club Sessions

Bring everyone along for some craft and sewing fun this Cardiff half term at MADE.

This creative space will become a hive of hands-on activity for people of all ages and artistic abilities to come along and enjoy.
The workshop, set up by Lark Design & Make, will encourage participants to learn some new skills and create something to take home after they’re done.
Wallace & Gromit Model Making & Musical Marvels
Where: St David’s Hall
When: 1st June
Learn all about what it takes to produce a Wallace and Gromit film by learning how to make your very own Gromit.
Once you’ve finished you can take your creation home to make your very own animations. This can be done using the same Aardman software that was used to make the movies we all know and love so well.
After the workshop, check out the amazing musical marvels of Wallace and Gromit, as the dynamic duo take to the stages of St David’s backed by a live orchestra.
Following their bewitching performance, the movie, The Wrong Trousers will be showcased with a live orchestral soundtrack.

Take Part in the 2019 Duck Race
Where: Roath Park Greenhouse
When: 2nd June
Help raise money for a worthwhile charity, HCPT Lifechanging Pilgrimage Holidays, during the school half term in Cardiff and enter a duck into the biggest duck race of the year.

Join in as 1500 rubber ducks sail down the Roath Brook from the greenhouse, turning the little river yellow for an afternoon of friendly competition in the great outdoors of Cardiff.
