How to Spend a Girls Weekend in Cardiff

If you’re planning a girls weekend away to Cardiff, then you’ve picked the perfect place. Whether you’re travelling from afar or you’re a Cardiff local, organising your weekend to keep everyone happy isn’t always easy!

So, to ease the pressure of planning, we’ve put together the ultimate plan for a glamorous girls weekend away in Cardiff.

Stay in Fabulous Accommodation

Staying at the Exchange Hotel is an experience in itself. Located in the historic Coal Exchange building, what better way to escape with the girls and feel like VIP ladies from start to finish?

We’re set to bring Cardiff a luxury hotel experience tailored to perfection for our guests. Opening in April 2017, we’d love to sprinkle some extra sparkle onto your girls getaway with our striking decor and amazing facilities.

Treat Yourselves to Brunch

For ladies who brunch, Cardiff offers a lovely selection of brunch spots to cater to your needs. Around the Cardiff Bay area, we recommend heading to Bill’s for a delicious balance of sweet and savoury treats. Bill’s offers a calming but atmospheric space with stylishly rustic decor.

Choose from a diverse menu with everything from Granola and Yogurt and Avocado on Toast to more hearty options featuring Bill’s Breakfast and delicious Buttermilk Pancakes. You’ll be sure to set the day off right with a replenishing Bill’s brunch.

Take in the Sights

When you’ve finished off your brunch, why not head off to explore some of the scenic sights of Cardiff and the Bay area?

From the Norwegian Church to the Pier Head building, you’ll find a multitude of historic sights to explore at your leisure. Expect to have plenty of scenic snaps for Instagram by the end of the day!

Shop the Day Away

It wouldn’t be a girls weekend without some retail therapy! And in Cardiff Bay, you’ll discover an array of fantastic shopping venues. Give Carrie Bradshaw and the gang a run for their money as you explore Cardiff’s bustling shopping centres and hidden vintage spots.

At St David’s Shopping Centre, you’ll find your high-street shopping favourites for clothing, jewellery and home accessories. And for more upmarket shopping, shoppers can enjoy designer stores Hugo Boss, Reiss and Kurt Geiger.

And for those who love hunting down vintage gems, Cardiff definitely has you covered. From secret shopping paradise Cardiff Fashion Quarter to long standing favourite Jacob’s Market, expect to stumble upon everything you never knew you needed.

Relax with Afternoon Tea

Whether you’re celebrating a birthday in Cardiff or you just fancy an afternoon treat, why not gather your goals and join us at the Exchange Hotel for a stunning Afternoon Tea experience?

You can expect only the most delicious sandwiches, pastries and cakes complete with either tea or a glass of fizz.

Make the Most of Mermaid Quay

In the summer months, there’s nowhere with a better atmosphere for a bite to eat and a refreshing drink in hand. However, Mermaid Quay is the place to be in Cardiff Bay all year long.

Whether you fancy a trusty Nando’s or trying somewhere new, everything you could need can be found around this dazzling waterfront location. And when the sun goes down, the fun definitely doesn’t have to stop. With Cardiff Bay hot spot the VIP Lounge right under your feet, there’s no excuse for missing out on their extensive drinks menu and stunning interior!

Take a Cocktail Masterclass

To pour some extra fun into your girls getaway, you could put your skills to the test with a lively cocktail masterclass at Be at One. The session includes some insight into cocktail history, and of course all the fun that comes with shaking, making and tasting swanky cocktails with friends.

Set to open to the public in April 2017, we’d love to have you stay with us for a girls weekend away that you won’t forget!
