About Signature Living

Signature Living

Signature Living was born from a simple idea: to create luxurious, spacious hotel experiences that bring family and friends together. Each hotel has been designed to provide guests with comfortable, flexible and stylish accommodation, with many celebrating a hotel’s history and architecture.

Since opening our doors for the first time on 23rd August 2008 we now operate apartments, 3 hotels, 2 restaurants and 3 bars in the city.  We currently occupy 1, 2 and 5 on Trip Advisor rating.

Tired of staying in sub-standard hotels, Lawrence and Katie Kenwright, a husband and wife team, opted to open their first hotel in Liverpool in 2004, which was unlike any other hotel destination in the city. Signature Living transformed a building that dated back to 1854 to their Victoria Street Apartments, which took approximately four and a half years to refurbish.

In 2008, Signature Living opened its doors to the public, operating large apartments that slept up to 16 people. Instead of separating loved ones into different hotel rooms like other accommodation providers, Signature Living’s apartments allowed large groups to share wonderful memories in their spacious, stylish rooms.

Signature Living had filled a gap in the market, offering short-stay apartments for large groups. Following the success of their Victoria Street apartments, Lawrence and Katie Kenwright decided the time was right to open their second location, opening the Mathew Street Apartments in 2011, situated within the popular Cavern quarter of the city.

With both apartments proving to be a hit with locals and tourists, the Kenwrights became increasingly passionate about providing unique hotel experiences. Just one year after opening the Matthew Street Apartments, Signature Living opened the Bold Street apartments in 2012, which was located within the old Masonic Bank, which dates back to 1810 and maintains some of the building’s original features.

The converted bank was the very first of its kind in Liverpool, sleeping a total of 30 people, allowing guests to come together and celebrate a variety of occasions, such as a birthday, hen party, stag party, engagement or another special event.

The hard work and passion of Lawrence and Katie Kenwright certainly translated into their luxury apartments, which is why they opted to open the first Signature Living Hotel in 2013.

Keen to inject a little fun into their hotel, the husband and wife team chose to design themed hotel rooms that would allow them to stand out from other hotels across the city.

From the very beginning, Lawrence and Katie Kenwright have been dedicated to providing luxurious hotel experiences, which maintain a buildings original features and architecture.

It is therefore no surprise they both fell head over heels in love with 30 James Street, which served as the White Star Line’s headquarters and was, as a result, RMS Titanic’s port of registry.

In collaboration with the Shankly family, Signature Living launched The Shankly Hotel in August 2015. The hotel is a celebration of the life and legacy of the late, great football manager, Bill Shankly.

Whether looking for the ultimate football stay in the city or a luxurious hotel experience in Liverpool, guests will never want to leave The Shankly Hotel, which offers large group accommodation that features a stunning bathroom and a double Jacuzzi bath.
